Overview
Trinidad City Tour and Excursion to Valle de los Ingenios
1- Combined city tour:
The first part is on a colonial cart pulled by a horse across the newer section of Trinidad City. It includes visits to the old Catholic Cemetery, a factory of bricks, the old train station, the pottery and the old prison.
The second part is walking around the historical center, and it includes the visit to Museo Nacional de la Lucha contra Bandidos.
The lunch is in a restaurant.
The tour takes about 4 hours.
2 - The excursion to Valle de los Ingenios, the former center of sugar cane production:
The tour is on a classic american car.
It include visits to El Mirador del Valle (you can do zip-lining there), San Isidro de los Destiladeros, the ruins of an old mini-sugar cane factory and an alcohol destilery, Manaca Iznaga (a small town where the biggest sugar cane factory in the Valley was located).
Note: The entrance tickets to the Tower and the Isidro site are included. Zip-lining is not included in the price.
The tour takes 3 to 4 hours, depending if you do zip-lining or not.
3- Horseback riding across the countryside:
It is a horse riding tour across Santa Rosa Valley, the small section of Valle the los Ingenios that was used mainly to produce bricks and tiles in the times of the Colony.
Today this place is inhabited by many families. The community is called "La Pastora". So you will see how is the rural life in Cuban, and also you will see some brick factories, some of them in ruins.
Also you will see the Show of the Cofeeman. That guy will recreate how a coffee cup was made by the "guajiros" (people from the countyside) a long time ago.
We will also visit a natural swimming pool.
Note: The price includes a cowboy guide and my guidance, the horses, the entrance to a natural swimming pool and lunch at restaurant in the countryside.
4- Hiking into the Mountains of Topes de Collantes NP.
It includes visits to El Mirador, from where you can enjoy a beautiful view of Trinidad and the Caribbean Sea, the Museum of Coffee (Museo del Café), a short trip through the history of the coffee, and a hike to Salto del Caburní, a beautiful waterfall and a nice natural swimming pool.
You will have the chance to watch beautiful birds, including the national Cuban bird, the Tocororo.
The tour takes 5 to 6 hours.
5- Visit to El Cubano NP.
Hiking by the side of the mountains is not hard at all!
It is possible to watch many birds, including the tocororo, the national Cuban bird. There, you will also see the biggest wasp's nest you could ever see! Finally, you could take a swim in Javira Waterfall.
The tour takes about 4 hours.
