One Day Food Tour Through Havana
Food and Cigars
A food tour to learn how to cook Cuban food with local ingredients, and the history and evolution of the Cuban cuisine. Of course, you will enjoy famous Cuban cocktails like Mojito and Daiquiri and even take great recipes back home.
Overview
- At 9:00 am, I will pick you up at your hotel or private house.
- Let’s start at El Ajiaco in the little fisherman town of Cojimar (Ernest Hemingway´s inspiration for The Old Man and the Sea).
- After doing a tour around the town, we will visit a small agronomic farm to learn more about natural condiments and urban agriculture.
- Later, we will get back to El Ajiaco to meet the kitchen staff you are going to work with.
- After a short introduction to the Cuban cuisine, you will work with the chefs to prepare 5 typical Cuban dishes: Ajiaco Cubano, Ropa Vieja, Lobster and Shrimps on Souse, Black Beans and White Rice.
- When you experience a Mojito cocktail lesson, we will have time to relax and eat everything you cooked! So, better to be good!
- A Habano World Champion Sommelier will make you enjoy a Habano Cigar tasting with coffee, chocolate, rum, and rituals.
- Your lessons on the Cuban dessert will be taken at La Barraquita. A bakery master will help you prepare Cuban desserts with fresh ingredients like pineapple and mango.
- Later, we will end the tour at Sloppy Joe´s iconic bar, where you will learn to elaborate a perfect Daiquiri and eat the most famous Cuban sandwich.
- After such a fest, it’s time to return to your hotel or house.
