Overview
Breakfast at your accommodation.
09:30h Your guide will pick you up at your accommodation and tour you around the Modern part of the city on bike. (Bikes will be provided by your guide).
• First Stop: Christopher Columbus Cemetery. Once described as an “exercise in pious excesses” this monument, one of the largest in the Americas, is renowned for its striking religious iconography and elaborated marble statues.
• Second Stop: Revolution Square. The square is dominated by the José Martí Memorial, which features a 109 m (358 ft.) tall tower and an 18 m (59 ft.) statue. The National Library, many government ministries, and other buildings are located in and around the Plaza. Located behind the memorial are the closely guarded offices of former President Fidel Castro. Opposite the memorial on the far side of the square is the famous Che Guevara image with the slogan 'Hasta la Victoria Siempre' (Always toward Victory) that identifies the Ministry of the Interior building.
Continue the biking experience around the city, but this time moving toward the Colonial part of Havana.
• Third Stop: Lunch time in Old Havana while tasting the spirit of a 500 year’s old city and its buildings.
• Fourth Stop: Handcraft Souvenirs Market Centro Cultural Almacenes de Déposito San José. Ancient deposit on the harbor area reborn thanks to the Historian Office of Havana´s efforts transforming it into a cultural commercial complex and Cuban art craft shop. It´s a non- parallel example of the industrial patrimony and it is also the biggest craft market in the city. Besides the souvenir shopping offers to the visitor Coin Change possibilities, cafes and toilets.
Get back to the city and take Malecon Ave. (Sea Wall) were you can enjoy, by far, the best view of a Caribbean sunset.
• Fifth Stop: Refreshments at National Hotel. Cuba’s flagship hotel, inaugurated in 1930, famous for its eclectic architecture, an excellent service, and a long list of illustrious and famous guests.
After all your activities your local guide will drop you off at your accommodation hoping you are exhausted but amazed by what Havana has to offer and this up to close and personal experience with the city.
What´s included:
A bike per person to ride around Havana.
My service as a professional tour guide.
